Polish National House / Dom ludowy
59 Vokzalna St.
The building of the National House - the organization of cultural and educational life was created back in 1928, at the expense of the Polish community of the village of Grechany (which later became the district of Khmelnytskyi).
People donated five rubles from each yard for the construction, and it was a significant amount - for that kind of money you could buy a cow those days!
There was a school, library and shop in the National House. An education center was organized at the school. Subsequently, part of the Polish population of Grechany was deported, and another part of it was executed by firing squads. The building itself was transferred to the ownership of the city. Then, various organizations operated in it - educational, cultural, sports and commercial.
Now the building is in disrepair, but the city is trying to give a second life to it: it is planned to overhaul the interior, restore the facade, as well as arrange the surrounding area of the National House.
